In 2022, Farm Up Jamaica planted 3000 pineapples using PittMoss Plentiful Organic Potting Mix to resist climate-induced drought conditions and produce a big, healthy crop. The unique composition of PittMoss allows the plant to fully utilize applied resources like water and nutrients, reducing runoff and allowing you to water 2/3 less compared to traditional peat-based potting mixes on the market. According to Neil Curtis of Farm Up, “One bag treats three times the amount of soil!”Β
PittMoss recently received a progress update and the results are incredible. The farm manager noted that βIn parched soil, without rain for three weeks, 3000 pineapple plants started in a PittMoss blend, no-till soil using principles of carbon reduction, with only occasional irrigation are thriving.
